Is this a travel agency?
No. Smart Japan Trip is a travel planning and support service. We help you plan your journey and provide personal assistance during your stay in Japan.
Can you make bookings for us?
We can help you find suitable hotels, restaurants, activities, and transportation options, and guide you through the booking process. Where possible, we can also assist with communication in Japanese. Reservations and payments are generally made directly by you with the service provider.
What can you help with during our trip?
From changing plans and finding restaurants to transportation questions, reservation issues, and unexpected problems, you can contact us whenever you need local support. Think of us as your personal point of contact in Japan.
How quickly will you respond?
Fast responses are one of our priorities. During our support hours, 12:00–24:00 JST, we aim to respond to WhatsApp messages as quickly as possible so that a small question doesn’t turn into a stressful situation. Also we do respond your calling within 1 minute.
What happens if we need help outside support hours?
Our standard support hours are 12:00–24:00 JST. Messages received outside these hours will be answered once support resumes. Of course, we can consider special treatment for 24h support. Please contact us about details.
Can you help if we don’t speak Japanese?
Absolutely. That is one of the main reasons our service exists. We can help you understand information, communicate with local businesses, and navigate situations where Japanese may otherwise become a barrier.
Can we use Travel Support without the Planning service?
Yes. Planning and Travel Support can be purchased separately. If you already have your itinerary and simply want the reassurance of having someone to contact while travelling in Japan, Travel Support can be used on its own.
Is the price per person or per group?
Our prices are generally per group, not per person. This means couples and families travelling together can use the service under one plan, subject to the conditions of the selected service.
What happens after the free consultation?
We’ll first learn about your trip, your travel style, and what kind of support you’re looking for. If Smart Japan Trip is a good fit, we’ll recommend the most suitable service and explain the next steps. There is no obligation to purchase after the consultation.
What if our plans change?
That’s completely normal — travel rarely goes exactly as planned. If you have Travel Support, contact us on WhatsApp and we’ll help you explore your options, adjust your plans, and decide what to do next.
